We had an excellent turnout for a first-years inaugural UFO festival at Three Peaks Recreation area in Southern Utah and it was the first of its kind to ever happen in Cedar City, Utah. We had people travel from Northern Utah and out-of-state to show their support for this beginning event. Over 250 people attended the fest including many locals from Cedar City and St. George, Utah. We are already in the planning stage for the 2017 Utah UFO Fest and will be partnering with the Utah Chapter of MUFON to help us on next year’s event. A date has not yet been set but we are planning for two full days of activities.
Robert Crowe, the new State Assistant Director for the Utah Chapter of Mufon, was at our event. Robert spoke on the podium to educate the public about the work of Mufon and his plans for Utah based UFO cases and research. Mufon became a founding sponsor of our event and a warm thank you is extended to their organization for the support in helping us make this event possible.
Travis Walton, a renowned alien abductee from Snowflake, Arizona, was the main focus speaker. His story sparked the major motion picture, Fire in the Sky, produced in 1993 recounting the harrowing ordeal that Travis endured in the presence of ETs and how he lived to tell about it. The Utah UFO Festival hosted an outdoor documentary screening directed by Jennifer Stein titled, “The True Story of Travis Walton,” which tells the truth about what happened versus the Hollywood version which became a horror movie. We owe a lot of gratitude and a big thanks to Jennifer Stein for allowing us to show her film and a big thank you goes out to Travis Walton for taking time out of his hectic schedule to show his physical support for our inaugural festival.
